“Father to the fatherless, defender of widows — this is God, whose dwelling is holy. God places the lonely in families” - Psalms 68:5-6
PURPOSE: To glorify God by reflecting his heart for the orphan, by providing care for orphans, and by promoting adoption and foster care in Greenville and around the world.
WHO DOES IT REACH: Our goal is to provide opportunities and support for Mitchell Road members to serve and to care for orphans.
WHAT IS DONE: Our goal is to help people see that there are lots of ways to be involved in orphan care based on the gifts God has given us, out of a sense of gratitude for Gods adoption of us. A lot of what we do is to:
- Bring glory to God by obeying the biblical mandate to care for the orphan and by demonstrating God’s heart in his adoption of sinners into His own family.
- Make members of MRPC aware of the critical need to adopt, foster and care for orphans in Greenville and around the world.
- Empower members of MRPC to become foster or adoptive families.
- Provide opportunities for MRPC members to take action in caring for orphans through prayer, outreach, and support for adoptive and foster families at MRPC.
WHO IS NEEDED: We need the body of Christ to serve according to the gifts and abilities God has given them in a variety of ways. We have opportunities for everyone to serve, including children, youth, college, single adults, married couples, and seniors.
WHERE/WHEN: Various service and informational activities are held throughout the year.
